As I waited I looked at Carl not swimming like me. finally it was turn I was so happy I could train a frog to do ballet, even imagine one doing it.
I jumped in the pool. It was as cold as 20 ice cubes full of snow. but I soon got over it. I heard swimmers splash their arms up and down in the pool. Kody cheered for me so did some other people. My friends yelled at themselves like teachers screaming at me forever!
Wayne yelled "Go Go Go" and I had realised the race had begun I WAS LOSING!
I didn't know what type of swimming to do, so i ran! soon I finished I came second.

Taking my time I climb up the wooden steps imagining and feeling of Sir Edmund Hillary's courage. I turn over to my opponents. They look all confident and tough like army of soldiers. Nothing's gonna stop them from winning. I look straight forward like a wolf. I see students from Hillary house cheering loud for me, as if I was their simple last hope. Mr K had blown his whistle. I hopped into the cold water."One, two,three CLAP!" There I go Watching the others one by one over the tied skipping rope that separated us . Their hands going over and over.For a second I didn't know what to do next , seconds went by time went on."Touch." I had finally finished. Clearing my goggles from the fighting water Mrs Ingalls handed me a bright, yellow rod.I was as happy as a hungry mouse finding yummy cheese, I had come .........second.
I stepped up onto the step waiting for my turn. I saw millions of people watching me. My body felt like an ice cube floating around. I saw goosebumps jumping all over my arm like a crazy grasshopper.
My heart felt like a machine gun. Mr K blew the whistle for silence . I jumped into the pool. It felt like I was freezing in Antartica. I put my feet against the wall. Mr K blew the whistle again for silence.
As I sat on the bench drawing a picture I looked around and saw Mr K getting ready to smash the clappers together, ready to let the racers start swimming. I felt as surprised as a lady that's going to fall from a 10 metre high tower.
I listen carefully to the chatter next to me and around me. My friend sounded like birds chirping in the beautiful summer morning. The teachers shouted listen, listen, listen they remind me of my parents forcing me to stuff.
As I was watching ,the chlorine smelt like a mad scientist's chemicals in a lab it reminded me of the time I went to the vet for some answers for my homework, I felt so sick I just wanted to get out of the swimming pool area for some fresh air.
Finally It was over . I just felt so greatful for every kids who swam in the swimming carnival and for every kid who raced. I walked over to the person who won then gave them a big hug to say well done.
As I held onto the bar I looked around and saw people next to me getting very nervous and scared.I felt as brave as a cheetah hunting for its prey.
I listened carefully to the kids yelling "Batten,Batten" around me.My friends sounded like dogs barking at someone who walked past.The teachers shouted,"Cheer for your houses." They reminded me of my mum,because my mum yells a lot.
As Y swam,the water tasted like horrible chlorine. It reminded me of my lonely blue leafy pool at home. I just wanted to run out of the murkey water and go to my beautiful blue pool.
Finally, it was over. I felt as happy as a puppy being scratched. My body wrapped in my big towel.
As I waited in line I saw competitive swimmers doing freestyle.Finally my race. I had to look down when I was swimming. I felt as scared as a lady being locked in a burning hotel.
I listened carefully to the people around me. My friends sounded like zombies screaming around in a bundle.
The teachers shouted go go go. They reminded me of rock bands screaming loud songs.
As I swam in the water it tasted like pee .It reminded me of Maraitai wharf. I just wanted to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:.The water smelt like really yucky chlorine. After the race I sat down and drew with Clayton and myself.
Year 5 camp The most exciting thing was the kayaking because I tried to ask S.P how's your brother, and I fell in the water twice. J.M saved me. S.P also fell off and when she did she saw an eel right next to her and the eel stuck its tongue into J.M.'s kayak. I also went over and under a log. When I tried to go over, I fell in the water, then I wondered where S.P was because I wanted to ask how her brother was. Eventually I asked her.
We went to Sonshine Ranch. My favourite activity was kayaking. I stood on the log that was there and dragged my kayak with the paddle and walked right across 2 logs . I then jumped back into my kayak . Suddenly I fell into the water, that was the BEST bit.
My first horse at camp was called Mini Monte. She was the smallest horse there. I felt so embarrassed when I got one. Everyone had a horse bigger than mine.
I wished I could have had a bigger horse than Mini Monte.
I had a fun time at camp. We had a really good time on the kayaks. I loved going on the rope swing.I felt nervous when I was swinging backwards. When I came forwards I felt proud. It was lots of fun when we went on the kayaks. It was the best day ever. I felt happy when I had my turn on the kayak.I loved going horse riding. Horse riding was my favourite part. We also did some vaulting it was kind if hard but fun. L.K. and T.H.'s favourite part was seeing the glow worms.
This is me horse riding. I had a good time because I got to go around Sonshine Ranch. The most exciting thing was that I got to stand up on it. The most funny thing was that I cut in line. It was really cool.
This is the fantastic water course! This was my favourite part, it was a bit hard trying to get the ropes! I fell in the water two times. The water was so muddy it felt terrible but I still enjoyed it! I liked doing the water wheel! It was gigantic I couldn't believe my eyes! LB's mum helped me get over! My friends went on the same course as me and we all made it to the end!
We went to the year 5 camp at Sonshine Ranch for 2 days. My favourite bit was the flying fox because we flew through the trees and it went really, really fast. L.B'sfavourite bit was the kayaking because it was fun racing to the tennis ball. It was great fun. On the way back everyone was asleep, also one of the buses broke down. Luckily everybody got home safely.
