On 27th of August room 12 and room 14 went to Edgewater Marae, when we got there Mrs.Foot gave us instruction so we could behave inside the marae. The marae lady told us about the marae, what they told us is that the marae is actually our marae. After, we were told to go to the toilet then we went to the dining room and have morning tea, we had orange juice and biscuits. After morning tea we started our first activity, we started by learning what Maori people needs to know. After that we started drawing maori patterns on black paper. Later, group 2 came in, at that time we went back to the main room. The marae lady told us about the carvings of the ancestors of maori people. We were allowed to sketch the ancestors. After group 2 came in and sat with us. We sang our school song to the marae ladies and went back to our school bus.
A few minuets later we arrived at the reserve, we had lunch over there. After lunch we started our bushwalk. We saw some cow poop at the start, we had to dodge them on our way to the bush, finally we dodged them, phew! We started our bushwalk. We saw some Somerville students doing cross country in the bush, Suddenly Mrs Foot heard birds singing and told us to be silent. We heard the birds sing, ( to me ) it was pretty good. Later on we carried on walking and again Somerville students were running through us as fast as dogs chasing cats. We saw some plants with funny shapes. When we got out of the bush, we had to dodge cow poop again. Finally we made it to our bus.
